RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Reviews work orders to determine work priorities. 
  • Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
  • Maintains activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, and air required for operations, and telephone service.
  • Performs preventive maintenance inspections and tests in conjunction with Engineering and Maintenance staff.
  • Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
  • Performs sheetrock installation, floating, taping, patch repairs and skimming.
  • Moves hospital department furniture, records and offices.
  • Performs all painting tasks to include color selection according to established hospital specification of floor plans.
  • Works in a safe manner; complying with hospital and O.S.H.A. standards.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Adheres to all Franklin Foundation Hospital personnel policies and procedures relative to employment, dress code and work performance.
  • Follows and complies with all Federal, State, Local and JCAH regulations within department and reports noncompliance as seen in other areas.
  • Confers with management and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and takes measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
  • Attends regular department safety meetings and in-services and is responsible for the overall safety program as it pertains to a Maintenance employee           
  • Follows budget guidelines and Purchasing procedures when requesting equipment or materials for his work.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
 
DESIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
They must have working knowledge of all phases of maintenance, with HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting and mechanical skills.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or general education (GED)
  • HVAC Certification/Diploma
  • 2 years related experience and/or training preferred - Open to new graduates of an HVAC program.
