ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

DAILY FUNCTIONS: 

  • Issue Purchase orders. 

  • Review receiving edit list for assigned locations. 

  • Review all inventory variances for assigned locations. 

  • Set up and maintain inventory cards. (This includes new products and price changes) 

  • Approve chemical and finished goods orders through Great Plains. 

  • Approve invoices in OnBase for payment. 

  • Fix inventory entries when needed. 

  • Help with FIFO problems on the invoice edit list. 

  • Answer salesmen calls for special chemicals and inventory questions. 

  • Assist sales manager in providing fertilizer quotes to sales reps. 

  • Review sales edit lists for assigned locations that are in HOLD batches. 

  • Serve as backup to other Inventory Analysts as needed.  

MONTHLY FUNCTIONS: 

  • Month-end inventory procedures. (This includes updating pricing for salesmen, running forecasting reports for all locations, approving all inventory month-end variances, and various other reports.) 

  • Review chemical programs for upcoming promotions and rebates. 

SEASONAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Work with sales directors to maintain stock list and to set inventory minimum order levels for chemicals. (Quarterly) 

  • Handle seed ordering, including special order seed quotes, for assigned locations. 

  • Run sales and rebate information for sales team. 

EDUCATION: 

Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.  

WORK EXPERIENCE: 

  • Three to five years of inventory experience required.

  • Strong problem solving, excellent verbal and writing communication and decision-making skills 

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and project management skills including the ability to work against pressing deadlines, independently, as well as with a team.  

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and strong attention to detail. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as exceptional interpersonal communication skills. 

  • Good reasoning, project management and analytical skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and collectively with other members of the administrative team. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • The use of a computer and phone – Must be able to see, type, write, finger, grasp, and sit; must be able to use a mobile phone 

  • Communicating with internal and external customers – must be able to talk, hear, see, and comprehend.  

  • Mobility of arms – Must be able to reach and use arms to manipulate small objects. 

  • Mobility inside the office to access filing cabinets, office machines, and supplies – must be able to move about the office space, stand for extended period of time, reach, bend, and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
