If you love working with people, and working steps from home, we have the position for you.  We are a Family-owned property management company looking for a team-player to be a Resident Manager at a large multi-residential property in South Marin County. You will be responsible for planning and directing the day-to-day activities of the properties. You must have the ability to take direction, yet self-lead. We already have a great construction and maintenance team, and looking to add someone who is professional, can bring their sharp attention to detail along with excellent customer service and strong communication skills. Compensation for this position includes reduced cost of onsite housing. Position is full time and flexible.  

A Day in the Life….
  • Attract tenants by advertising vacancies, obtaining referrals from current tenants, explaining advantages of location and services, and showing units
  • Maintain confidentiality of the Personally Identifiable Information (PII) of tenants and prospective tenants
  • Negotiate and prepare leases for signature by owners
  • Collect rent and other moneys due from tenants and ensure that monies are immediately deposited and recorded in AppFolio
  • Complete all paperwork and promptly file in AppFolio, with additional delivery to Employer’s San Rafael office by mail
  • Sign tenants up with AppFolio, our bill pay affiliated partner to collect rents and initiate and track property maintenance
  • Maintain the Property by investigating and resolving tenant complaints, enforcing rules of occupancy, inspecting vacant units and evaluating the needs for repairs
  • Maintain building systems by scheduling for maintenance services and supervising repairs
  • Secure the Property by enforcing precautionary policies and procedures and responding to emergencies. Notify management of all security issues in writing immediately.
  • Ensure that rental properties and individual units are safe and secure and ensure that standards dictated by landlord-tenant laws and tenant leases are upheld
  • Inspect units upon receipt of maintenance requests
  • Contact tenants to deal with late payments, and handle service notices
  • Maintain records of income, signed leases, complaints, maintenance, etc.
  • Terminate leases as requested by owners and initiate
  • Walk and inspect the Property regularly, notifying management of issues, maintenance needs, or health and safety matters
  • Survey local rental rates and comparable properties and prepare monthly email updates for owners
  • Negotiate with tenants to schedule temporary move out/move in to allow for safe construction on their units
  • Prepare weekly Manager’s Report and petty cash/expense reports, the completion time of which should not exceed 30 minutes per week
  • Submit a weekly Timesheet to manager
  • Maintain a polite demeanor with all tenants, vendors, and other employees
  • Any additional responsibilities as may be requested by manager
What we need from you:
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Tech savvy, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • AppFolio (Property Management Software) experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with tenants, vendors, and management
  • Flexible business hours which includes weekends and after hours as needed.  Ability to be on call with company provided cell phone
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with efficiency and accuracy with a commitment to maintaining high building standards
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
