Responsible for developing and maintaining records for all adult mental health contact records to center standards. This position works with other program staff ensuring filing is kept current and in the appropriate program location. In the near future duties will include moving from a paper records to electronic record keeping system. Computer skills are a must and must be able to scan, index, file and maintain an electronic system. Travel between programs is required to deliver filing to correct locations. Transport mail daily to Main Center for mailing. Work with other records staff in the agency and work in other locations and programs when assigned. Retrieve files and send to other programs when needed.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
- Maintain efficient filing system for all adult mental health contact files both active and non-active clients
- File incoming information and send filing to appropriate locations when needed
- Make new files for newly admitted clients into regular services
- Pick up documentation from other program locations and file appropriately
- Work with other agency programs to maintain effective and organized clinical records
- Excellent computer skills to utilize the new electronic record keeping system
- Must be able to scan, index, retrieve, and manage records in electronic system
- Performs duties in a manner consistent with the Agency’s mission;
- Performs related work as assigne
Knowledge, Skills, and Essential Functions
- Excellent written and verbal communication with clients/families, employees, and law enforcement
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and fax/scan/copy
- Must display excellent organizational skills and time management, quick learner and open to changing job assignments
- Able to work in high paces and high stress environment
- Able to meet deadlines
- Must be self motivated and able to work independently
- Some local travel
- Stooping, bending, sitting, standing, keyboarding for prolonged periods and lifting 50 pounds
- Ability to be CPR certified and PMAB
- Valid driver's license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation required. 10% local travel.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year of clerical experience or experience in crisis services is preferred
Hours: 8AM-4PM Mon-Fri
Salary: $19,282 annually/$9.2702 hourly
