Heart of Texas Region MHMR Center- Direct Support Professional 1045 (Waco, TX)

Direct Support Professional work as a team to provide training and support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Duties include:

transporting consumers to and assisting them with activities
training and assisting consumers in daily living skills
providing input regarding client needs and progress in interdisciplinary meetings
monitoring consumers for safety and reporting any concerns to supervisor or RN

Knowledge, Skills, and Essential Functions

Excellent written communication and computer keyboarding for documenting training
Excellent verbal communication with consumers, staff, and community providers
Stooping, bending, sitting, standing for prolonged periods and lifting 30 pounds
Ability to be CPR and PMAB certified
Valid driver's license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation required

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED Required
6 months work experience with individuals with developmental disabilities strongly preferred
Valid Driver's License and proof of liability insurance Required

Hours: 8:00am-4:00pm M-F

Salary: $18,870.08 Annually/$9.01 Hourly
