This chosen candidate will with the Center's Executive Director and Senior leadership to coordinate the development of the Community and Governmental Relations Division.  The successful candidate will be responsible establishing and implementing divisional goals and objects to be in the line with the agency's strategic plan for fiscal year 22.  *(Please note , the successful candidate will maintain some responsibilities for current position, and the ability to increase salary in currently limited.) 

Examples of Work Performed:
  • In coordination with Executive Director, develop and implement the services of the Community and Governmental Relations(CGR) Division (Public Information, Endowments and Grants, Volunteer and Intern Service's, Special Projects.)
  • Provide senior-level supervision of current division leadership.  Review, plan implement strategic goals of the new division including:
    • Review and develop opportunities for cost-saving measures.
    • Review, recommend, and/or implement new or reorganized staff patterns.
    • Make recommendations on new service opportunities
    • Develop job descriptions, evaluations for all programs to be in sync with agency's strategic plan.
  • Work to develop divisional budget strategies.
  • Will ensure compliance with local and Center protocols.
  • Identifies areas of needed change and makes recommendation to improve operations.
  • Established priorities, standards and measurement tools for determining progress in deadlines and goals.
  • Will help identify those in the local community who are in need of program-related activities.
  • Analyzes operations and problems and the preparation of reports of findings and recommendations.
  • Other duties and activities as appropriate in the development of the new division.


Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of community-based programs.
  • Knowledge of public, administration and management techniques and program management.
  • Knowledge of federal and state guidelines, regulations, programs, an d policies and procedures preferred.
  • Skill in community networking and program building.
  • Skill in project management and the ability to lead project teams: work with multiple stakeholders and provide oversight to contract vendors.
  • Skill in using personal computer application software such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project or similar programs.
  • Skill in written and oral communication, including the ability to make public presentations and write technical information in an understandable format.
  • Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts, to devise solutions to problem, to conduct sophisticated research, to prepare reports, to develop. evaluate, and interpret policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a team member in a fast-paced, deadline-orientated environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and to train, leas, assign, and prioritize staff workloads.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Education and Experience:
 
  • Graduated from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to the project assignment.  A degree may be in community relations, public administration, journalism, communications, management, or public administration preferred.
  • Must have 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver's License with an acceptable driving records.
Registration, Certification and Licensure:

Hours:  8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. M-F (Including nights, weekends, and holidays to accomplish program objectives and grant deliverables

Salary:  Depends on Education, License and Experience.
