Heart of Texas Behavioral Heath Network (Previously known as Heart if Texas MHMR)- Habilitation Specialist (Waco, TX)

Habilitation Specialists work with other staff and consumers and their families to provide training and support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Duties include:

developing implementation plans based on Individual Plans of Care
monitor progress, make recommendations, and prepare progress reviews
transporting consumers to and assisting them with activities
training and assisting consumers in completing daily living skills

Knowledge, Skills, and Essential Functions

Excellent written communication and computer keyboarding for inputting documentation
Excellent verbal/telephone communication with consumers, staff, and community providers
Organizational and filing skills and time management needed for maintaining records
Stooping, bending, sitting, standing for prolonged periods and lifting 50 pounds
Ability to be CPR and SAMA certified
Valid driver's license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation required

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED
1 year full-time related work experience required
1 year experience in IDD preferred

Hours: 8AM-5PM M-F

Salary: $10.00 hourly/ $20,800 annually

Location: Mexia, Groesbeck and Waco
