Under the direction and supervision of the Director of BJC, caseworkers will provide case-management services to individuals assigned and/or court ordered (e.g. NGRI, conditions of bond, medication release) to receive outpatient mental health services with Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network. Caseworkers will actively monitor the treatment progress of consumers and provide updates to judicial stakeholders (courts, District attorney, etc.) as required and requested. Caseworkers will participate in specialty court and court hearings as needed.  

  • Provide case-management, skills training, and psycho-social rehabilitation services to clients.
  • Monitors treatment progress and provides required updates on progress to judicial stakeholders.
  • Performs tracking of individuals on court-ordered outpatient treatment with BHN
  • Tracks and ensures/arranges completion of Certificate of Medical Examination(s).
  • Provides continuity of care services to clients released from jail with mental health medications as well as those in the community with frequent criminal justice contact.
  • Prepares progress notes and other required documentation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent written communication and basic computer knowledge for treatment planning and inputting clinical documentation
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal relations with consumers, staff, and community providers
  • Time management and organization required to meet service goals
  • Local travel (75%) and regional travel (25%)  
  • Stooping, bending, sitting, standing, lifting up to 30 lbs., and keyboarding for prolonged periods
  • Ability to be CPR and PMAB certified
  • Valid driver's license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation required
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master’s in social work, psychology or related field with ability to obtain Qualified Mental Health Professional credentialing
  • 1 year of case management experience Preferred
Hours: M-F 8AM-5PM with other as needed

Salary:  $45,000 -$52,965 ANNUALLY DOQ
