The Occupational Therapist performs professional and highly technical developmental rehabilitation services in the Klaras Center for Families Program. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. May supervise the work of others.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
  • Administers developmental rehabilitation activities and assesses the needs of clients.
  • Develops treatment strategies and plans.
  • Carries out treatment strategies.
  • Assists in planning and developing in-service training programs.
  • May oversee and coordinate specialized programs and projects.
  • May supervise the work of others.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
Experience and Education:
  • Experience in therapeutic rehabilitation work.
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university program with major course work in one of the recognized therapeutic rehabilitation activities is preferred.
  • Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
  • Two years working with children required.
  • Must have experience in clinical documentation.
  • Experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treatment planning.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of therapy principles and techniques related to occupational therapy as they relate to children with developmental delays and/or disabilities.
  • Skill in the use of therapeutic equipment, materials and tools.
  • Ability to administer therapy programs, to develop and conduct assessments, to coordinate program activities, to communicate effectively, and to supervise the work of others.
  • Must have and maintain a level of general health which permits the performance of job duties. 
  • Physically must be able to sit, stoop, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and carry educational materials in and out of home/child care settings.

  • Must have excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent time management skills and excellent organization/filing skills.
Salary: $75,000 annual $36.06 hourly

Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
