Supervise nurses and medical technicians who provide assessment, care, and treatment of clients’ experiences behavioral health crises. Will work under minimal supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independence judgement.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
  • Supervises administration of medications, immunizations, and treatment and observes patients for unusual symptoms and reactions.
  • Supervises physical, developmental, and psychosocial assessments of client health needs and implements appropriate action.
  • Screens crisis telephone calls and makes appropriate referrals.
  • Identifies community services and makes referrals to health care services.
  • Assists in evaluating services provided and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Participates in quality assurance reviews as required.
  • Trains other staff as required.
  • Perform related work as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate a caring attitude and communicate effectively with clients, other staff, law enforcement, and family members.
  • Must be able to work as a team member in all areas of planning and assisting individuals in meeting their goals.
  • Must be able to make decisions based on sound judgement in collaboration with other team members.
  • Knowledge of nursing techniques and procedures; health care laws and regulations; medical diagnoses and procedures; accepted medical treatment programs; and community health and nursing care principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to provide patient care, prepare and maintain records, explain public health law, and to train others.
  • Have excellent computer skills for clinical documentation.
  • Must be able to administer medication.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Supervisor Duties:

Education and Experience:
  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse by the State of Texas or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Two years supervisory experience Required
  • Minimum two years of mental health care experience Required

Salary: $75,000 annually
