Performs medication coordination work to include receiving and reconciling medication shipments, assisting with internal and external refill requests.  Work involves maximizing access to various pharmaceutical companies’ patient assistance program.  Provides administrative and clinical support work including some direct client contact unique to area/program within the agency.  Application of advanced knowledge and independent judgement in the implementation, application and monitoring of complex rules and standards and the assurance of compliance with them.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Requires graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent. 
Two years work experience related to prior authorization and/or patient assistance process and must have knowledge of prescription terminology. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 
  • Knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical terms
  • Prepare sample prescriptions and to inventory supplies
  • Prepares and/or distributes routine and special correspondence, reports, forms and documents.
  • Maintains files and records for an organizational unit.
  • Knowledge of office practices and administrative procedures.
  • Skill in the use of electronic data and/or word processing equipment and software.
  • Review Patient Assistance Applications (PAP) to ensure forms are filled out completely and accurately, requesting missing information and documentation as needed.
  • May aid in answering phone calls, routing incoming calls, taking messages, greeting visitors and directing them to appropriate staff.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
  • Must have and maintain a level of general health which permits the performance of duties. 
  • Individual must have the capacity to carry supplies and lift up to 30 pounds and sit for prolonged periods.

Salary: $37,500 Annually  $18.03 Hourly
