The Human Resource Generalist provides professional-level support across multiple HR functions. This position may assist with recruitment by posting jobs and screening applicants, as well as working with volunteers and school interns. This role may help facilitate onboarding and orientation for new hires and supports employee training programs. The role also helps verify payroll data, correct timesheet errors, and maintain accurate HRIS records. Additional duties may include monitoring leave requests such as FMLA and ensuring compliance with employment laws. The HR Generalist may assist with workers’ compensation claims, audits, and special projects, as well as general administrative tasks like filing and data entry.

- Strong understanding of payroll and timekeeping processes, including systems such as DATIS, Paycom, Kronos, or other HRIS platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
- Skilled in recruitment strategies and onboarding processes.
- Ability to help coordinate and facilitate training programs for employees and supervisors.
- Knowledge of employee benefits administration and leave management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for interacting across all organizational levels.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a strong customer service mindset.
- Adaptable to change and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain a good attendance record.
- Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable human resources experience.
- Ability to speak and present in front of large groups.
- Two (2) years of automated payroll experience with a large employee (300+ employees) preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in recruitment and training.
- Knowledge of employment law and HR practices.
- Familiarity with EEO, FLMA, ADA, FLSA, Worker’s Compensation, and related federal and state laws.
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Valid Texas drivers’ license and reliable transportation.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
