GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The person in this position will be responsible for a number of functions that directly affect the Center for Developmental Services’ (CDS) adherence to a contract with Health and Human Services (HHSC) policies and procedures.  Has a working knowledge of all available services, supports, and resource options in the community for people with IDD.



EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
  • Facilitates multiple types of data entry for the enrollment in waiver programs.
  • Orders office supplies for various programs in IDD Programs.
  • Completes clerical duties serving as back-up receptionist and completing payment vouchers.
  • General office work including but not limited to, filing, preparation of routine correspondence, mail handling, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned that relate to supporting direct and indirect service provision at the Center.

Knowledge, Skills, and Essential Functions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with clients, employees, and external agencies
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and fax/scan/copy
  • Must demonstrate a calm demeanor, patience and courtesy at all times while dealing with potential consumers, consumer family members, Center staff, other agency staff and the general public.
  • Must have knowledge of community resources for people with IDD.
  • Must be proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar, and proofreading skills.
  • Accuracy of work, organization, focus, and dependability are essential.
  • Must be self-motivated, have good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with other program staff.
  • Must display excellent organizational skills and time management
  • Stooping, bending, sitting, standing, keyboarding for prolonged periods and lifting 30 pounds
  • Ability to be PMAB and CPR certified
  • Valid driver's license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation required
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prefer three (3) years of related work experience
  •  current valid Texas driver’s license and automobile liability insurance.  Must have a clear driving record.
Hours: 8AM-5PM M-F

Salary: $31,200 annually/$15.00 hourly
