The person in this position will be responsible for a number of functions that directly affect the Center for Developmental Services’ (CDS) adherence to a contract with Health and Human Services (HHSC) policies and procedures. Has a working knowledge of all available services, supports, and resource options in the community for people with IDD.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
- Facilitates multiple types of data entry for the enrollment in waiver programs.
- Orders office supplies for various programs in IDD Programs.
- Completes clerical duties serving as back-up receptionist and completing payment vouchers.
- General office work including but not limited to, filing, preparation of routine correspondence, mail handling, etc.
- Other duties as assigned that relate to supporting direct and indirect service provision at the Center.
Knowledge, Skills, and Essential Functions
- Excellent written and verbal communication with clients, employees, and external agencies
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and fax/scan/copy
- Must demonstrate a calm demeanor, patience and courtesy at all times while dealing with potential consumers, consumer family members, Center staff, other agency staff and the general public.
- Must have knowledge of community resources for people with IDD.
- Must be proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar, and proofreading skills.
- Accuracy of work, organization, focus, and dependability are essential.
- Must be self-motivated, have good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with other program staff.
- Must display excellent organizational skills and time management
- Stooping, bending, sitting, standing, keyboarding for prolonged periods and lifting 30 pounds
- Ability to be PMAB and CPR certified
- Valid driver's license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation required
- High school diploma or GED
- Prefer three (3) years of related work experience
- current valid Texas driver’s license and automobile liability insurance. Must have a clear driving record.
