Coordinates and provides services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Autism, and for consumers with dual diagnosis, in IDD Crisis Respite and Crisis Intervention Programs.  Duties include but are not limited to responding to (potential and actual) crisis situations for families and/or schools making calls to IDD Intake, and in response to referrals from Mental Health MCOT staff, monitoring and assessing consumer behavior, preparing training plans and teaching consumers social, communication, and coping skills.  Duties also include demonstrating and teaching applied behavior analysis techniques to consumers and family members. Training occurs in crisis respite facility, in group homes, Day Habilitation programs, and family homes.  Additional requirements are maintaining consumer records and making recommendations to refer consumers to other programs to meet individual needs.  This position will require flexible hours and may require immediate response to crisis situations.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
  • Facilitates and provides training in ABA techniques, including shaping, prompting, fading, chaining, errorless learning.
  • Conduct parent, group home staff, Day Habilitation staff, and respite staff training in ABA techniques.
  • Ability to complete preliminary functional analysis, collect, document and graph data.
  • Monitors, documents, and maintain records of consumer activities and progress.
  • Communicates information about consumer progress to treatment team and participates in interdisciplinary team planning to assist with treatment plan formulation and implementation.
  • Comply with all safety and health requirements and regulations in accordance with all applicable standards.
  • Perform duties in a manner consistent with the Agency’s mission.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
Experience and Education:
A bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or related field or a Registered Behavior Technician certification is required. (High School Diploma will satisfy the requirements with the addition of RBT certification.) At least 1 year related experience in the field of Mental Illness or Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities is preferred with preference given to those who have worked with individuals who have challenging behaviors. At least 1 year of case management experience is preferred.

  • The person must have well-developed interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills, and be a team player with a desire to provide a high level of service. 
  • The person in this position must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, learn quickly, and interact effectively at all levels within the organization. 
  • General working knowledge of basic behavior principles is required. 
  • Must maintain certification in CPR, First Aid, and PMAB.  
  • Must have and maintain a level of general health that permits the performance of the job duties and ability to maintain regular attendance as set forth in Center policies and procedures. 
  • Possess the physical stamina to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to go down onto both knees, one knee at a time, and be able to draw oneself up from the floor. 
  • Must be able to assist consumers to the floor in a safe manner as well as assist back to upright position. 
  •  Exhibits appropriate work behaviors by working harmoniously with others, and without endangering the safety of self or others.

Salary:  Non-Certified $17.0000/Hour   $35,360 annually
Certified $19.0000/Hour   $39,520.00 Annually
