EXAMPLE OF WORK PERFORMED
- Enters, updates, and retrieves information from various automated human resources and/or payroll systems.
- Files document and maintain files and records, including electronic files.
- Will assist with preparing and revising job descriptions and job postings.
- May prepare routine human resources correspondence and reports.
- May assist with posting job vacancies, receive employment applications, and screens applications.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- Ability to use the internet to research policy questions and best practices.
- Adaptable and able to learn new programs and software quickly.
- Must have a current valid Texas driver’s license and liability insurance and reliable transportation required.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be a student in good standing at an accredited college or university, currently enrolled in an undergraduate major such as Human Resources, organizational psychology, or business administration.
- Under supervision, independently performing daily transactional tasks.
- Assisting with HR processes and policy analysis.
- Research HR-related inquiries from employees and management.
- Completion of special reports.
- Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Must display excellent organizational skills, time management, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- General administrative office work, including but not limited to responding to answering the phone, making photocopies.
- Adaptable to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace.
- Ability to learn about and implement trauma-informed care practices within the scope of work for the position.
- The administrative professional must have and maintain a level of general health that permits the performance of the job duties and ability to maintain regular attendance as set forth in Center policies and procedures.
- Level of general health permitting stooping, bending, and ability to sit for prolonged periods.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
