EXAMPLE OF WORK PERFORMED:
- Facilitates and provides skills training utilizing visual supports
- Monitors, documents, and maintains records of consumer activities and progress.
- Communicates information about consumer progress to treatment team and participates in interdisciplinary team planning to assist with treatment plan formulation and implementation.
- Complies with all safety and health requirements and regulations in accordance with all applicable standards.
- Performs duties in a manner consistent with the Agency’s mission.
- Performs related work as assigned
A High School Diploma or GED is required. At least 1 year related experience in the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities is preferred with preference given to those who have worked with individuals who have challenging behaviors. Travel is required; therefore, a valid driver’s license and insurance are required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- The person must have interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills, and be a team player with a desire to provide a high level of service.
- The person in this position must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, learn quickly, and interact effectively at all levels within the organization.
- General working knowledge of basic behavior principles is preferred but not required.
- Must maintain certification in CPR, First Aid and PMAB.
- Must have and maintain a level of general health that permits the performance of job duties and possess the physical stamina to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Must be able to go down onto both knees, one knee at a time, and be able to draw oneself up from the floor.
- Must be able to assist consumers to floor in a safe manner as well as assist back to upright position. Must be free of communicable disease to report to work.
- Exhibits appropriate work behaviors by working harmoniously with others, and without endangering the safety of self or others.
