Primary function:
Responsible for the machine layout, process flow and continuous improvement of a specific product line(s).  This includes recommendations, sourcing and justification support for capital expenditures as well as monitoring expenses and material variances. 
Develop and improve machines, equipment, tools and tooling to improve Safety, Quality and Productivity of the processes, products and facility.

  • Key driver of production safety and efficiency, Manage expense tracking for related accounts
  • Participate in and support Open Book Management, Assist and maintain adherence to project timelines
  • Work within budgets using a balance of creativity and capital
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Nurture a culture that is Safe, Quality minded and Productive through actions, words and documentation.
  • Aide in the development, implementation and enforcement of Safety and Quality policies.
  • Work with Maintenance to enable effective PM’s and minimize unplanned down time.
  • Facilitate employee development in conjunction with production management through their training matrix.
  • Be responsible for and take action to maintain high morale of the department.
  • Aide in the development of the reman programs.
  • Allocate and acquire capital goods through the acquisition process.
  • Manage multiple projects at any given time.
  • Support fellow Manufacturing Engineers as required by project timelines and magnitude.
  • Develop error proofing devices and procedures to improve Safety, Quality and Efficiency.

  • To communicate with the Safety Department to ensure that all OSHA 1910 standards are followed.

Requirements (including minimum education & years of experience):
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Architectural, or Technical degree required.
  • In lieu of degree 8 years experience in manufacturing setting with progressive and technical responsibility.
  • Ability to use office equipment including personal computers with Microsoft Office products.
  • Able to use or learn various machinery including welding, machining, wash, press and material handling equipment.
  • AutoCAD experience is required, Solid modeling is a plus, Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to communicate knowledge.  Broad exposure to manufacturing processes, tools and equipment
  • Familiar with many drawing formats, units of measure, measuring tools and techniques
  • Good understanding of OSHA, ANSI and the EPA as they relate to industry and industrial situations
  • Must be able to read MSDS sheets. Walking, standing, stooping, bending, lifting, reaching.  Overtime.
  • Requiring hours of service that would average at least 30 hours of service per week.
