 What You Will Do

The New Product Introduction Material Planner plays a pivotal role in coordinating the introduction of new products with stakeholders including the Business Unit Manager, Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, and Program Management. They are responsible for synchronizing material availability and capacity schedules.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Release job orders to production.
  • Provide weekly reports to track work in process (WIP) for each project, identifying any bottlenecks or delays.
  • Support regular meetings with key stakeholders to monitor milestones and assess impact on customer schedules.
  • Own communication of shipment statuses and delays to relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain a forward-looking view of the backlog while monitoring and resolving upcoming obstacles that will hinder schedule performance.
  • Manage and execute complex engineering change orders including timely inventory disposition.
  • Partner with Buyers to eliminate upcoming supply shortages.
  • Manages complex bills of materials.
  • Recommend and implements ideas to reduce overall costs.
  • Maintain item master modifiers.
  • Manage obsolescence and stock depletion.
  • Support their assigned business unit with a “can do” attitude.
Preferred Education & Experience: 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of MRP in a manufacturing environment (i.e. planning, purchasing, inventory management, capacity planning, and shop floor control).
Specialized Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to lead cross-functional efforts and collaborate with other team members to achieve results.
  • Mindset for continuous improvement including strong drive for results, sense of urgency, and a bias for action.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and ambiguous environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookup etc.).
  • Ability to trouble shoot and resolve complex materials issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledgeable in master scheduling and demand management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervisory input.
  • Day Shift Work Schedule 6.00 AM – 2:30 PM.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent use of personal computers, database and digital platforms, and other office productivity machinery, such as copy machines and computer printers.
  • Frequently uses hands, fingers, and arms to reach, handle, touch or feel equipment, materials, and computer.
  • The person in this position needs to frequently move inside the office
  • Frequent close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally use of steps, or ladder.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Seldom to occasionally position self to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Salary Range
Please note the typical hiring range is $90,000 - 125,000. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity.
