What You Will Do:
As our Components Engineer, you will develop concepts and lead the design of safety critical civil or military avionics control products, specifically those containing embedded computing platforms. You’ll work closely with advanced design and development, fellow engineers, and potential customers to transfer research concepts into implementable and certifiable designs that contain complex electronic hardware. These systems would be designed to receive airworthiness certification from aviation authorities.

What You Will Do:
As our Components Engineer, you will develop concepts and lead the design of safety critical civil or military avionics control products, specifically those containing embedded computing platforms. You’ll work closely with advanced design and development, fellow engineers, and potential customers to transfer research concepts into implementable and certifiable designs that contain complex electronic hardware. Primary Responsibilities
- Execute and manage the Electronic Component Management Plan (ECMP) systems, processes, and databases.
- Track electronic component obsolescence and work with cross functional teams to find alternates and develop documentation to implement part changes.
- Review all new electronic component selections to ensure part attributes meets the final products requirements.
- Evaluate Pb-free component substitutions, qualify alternative parts, and identify high risk components.
- Work with others including engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, customers, and suppliers to address component issues.
- Facilitate component engineering customer and supplier audits, may require some travel.
- Respond to compliance inquiries against government or customer regulations.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Engineering degree in electrical, electronics, mechatronics or mechanical from an accredited school
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a highly regulated industry
- Knowledge of the latest industry concerns applicable to piece part component selection and management
- Electrical CAD for generation of component symbols for schematic libraries
- Excellent team player
- Knowledge of process-heavy design environment
- Excellent root cause analysis and problem solving skills
- Ability to prioritize work in a fast paced, high product mix environment
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Please note the typical hiring range is $94,000 - $140,000 annually. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity.
