 Internship Description
The IT Security Intern will assist the IT department in preparing during the CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) process and augment the activities of the support teams by configuring, installing, or deploying software and hardware systems in the organization. They will focus on documentation, process usability, security, and increasing the efficiency and value of protective measures throughout the company.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Build, stage, and deploy new and upgraded cybersecurity technology.
  • Respond to incoming helpdesk requests from our helpdesk application, telephone, walk-up or email systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues identifying and/or analyzing cybersecurity hardware, software, and system issues.
  • Research and recommend enterprise security software or appliances, creating and updating documentation as needed.
  • Develop and document technology security processes.
  • Recommend infrastructure changes, upgrades, and configurations.
  • Provide updated, changed, or new management and end user reports or metrics and information extracts as requested.
  • Actively support robust security requirements and initiatives, recommending and implementing additional measures as appropriate.
  • Escalate and collaborate on problems with teammates when appropriate.
  • Other duties may be assigned by management.
  • Must be willing to be scheduled at times “on-call”, after core business hours, or on a weekend periodically to provide support for projects or issues.

Requirements:
  • Working towards a Bachelor or Associates degree in computer technology, IS Operations, BI or information sciences,  or related field is desirable, but not required.
  • Related certifications such as CompTIA or A+, Microsoft, and other professional certifications will be considered.
