SHOP FOREMAN (Fleet Department)

At Legacy Dodge in Fort MacMurray, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional service and high-quality vehicle repairs and maintenance to our valued customers. As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Shop Foreman to join our team.  

 

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Shop Foreman is responsible for ensuring the team of technicians properly repair and servicing of vehicles taken into the service department and also maintaining productivity and efficiency targets set by service management.  The Shop Foreman is to provide on the job assistance to the technicians, conduct and coordinate training, inspect vehicles after completion for proper repair, and create the highest level of productivity through leadership and motivation.

Main Responsibilities:

-Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

-Training and supervising the team of technicians and apprentices.

-Monitoring and improving shop production and technician efficiency.

-Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop and road calls when required.

-Complete quality control checks through the inspection of completed work to ensure that repair quality is maintained.

-Assisting with diagnostics and repairing vehicles when required.

-Assisting with making qualified technical decisions involving repair processes.

-Ensuring the shop area and tool room are organized and maintained.

-Taking road tests with clients to verify complaints.

-Assisting management with shop policies and enforcing processes.

-Coordinate with all contractors for building maintenance and repairs.

-Maintaining a high level of correspondence with Service Management.

Main Requirements:

-Journeyman Technician with at least 5 years experience

-Stellantis Level 3 Training 

-Diesel and medium duty truck (4500/5500) experience is a must

-VMAC and Auto Crane experience an asset

-Strong verbal and written communication skills

-Valid class 5 drivers license

-Proven success in a supervisory / people management roll

-Demonstrated ability to work under pressure

-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

-Computer literate

-Experience with routine maintenance operations

-Strong knowledge and experience with hybrid / electric vehicles
