Pennsylvania Chemicals is a world scale petrochemicals facility to be constructed in Monaca, Pennsylvania, USA – thirty miles north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  The project is divided with two scopes: ISBL and OSBL.  The ISBL scope is the supply of 1.5 MTPY Ethane Cracker Unit and three Polyethylene units.  The OSBL is the supply of the rest of the facility, the cogeneration unit, rail and utilities that are needed to support the rest of the facility. The project will be performed predominantly on a direct hire basis with some specialty and service subcontractors. 

Job Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate spool preservation after hydrojetting activities
  • Completion of all GoPreserve activities.
  • Cleanliness inspections of category 1 piping as necessary
  • Carry out PBQ surveys and training sessions to support the CDC and Build It Clean methodology.
  • N2 Purge inspections and mitigation
  • Flange inspections and rectification
  • Insure preservation mitigation for weather events
  • Responsible for equipment receiving and inspections. Completion of EIR activities in forms plus
  • Assuring proper warehousing and storage exists to ensure environmental protection at warehouse and warehouse laydown areas
  • Coordinate with warehouse craft/supervision to ensure tools and consumables for Preservation activities are correct and available
  • Generate RFI/FCD/NCRs as needed through the PTR system
  • Perform 10% inspections for bulk materials related to piping items
  • Fill out Backcharge/Trend/paperwork as needed and submit to Project Controls
  • Perform daily quality inspections of ongoing preservation activities
  • Adjust inspection sequencing based on construction needs.
  • Providing 3D model views as necessary to aid Superintendents
  • Support construction preservation activities as necessary
  • Create FMR’s to insure adequate consumables are in warehouse stores
  • Maintains relationships with the client and their representatives.
  • Perform other duties as necessary. 

Basic Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or equivalent work experience)
  • Demonstrated experience in preservation of piping and equipment in a construction environment.
  • Technical knowledge in the application of environmental, procurement, construction and preservation practices.
  • Successful implementation of the project goal zero philosophy.
  • Proficient in the ability to lead and manage change.
  • Displays effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong experience in liaising with multiple disciplines, coordinating Mechanical material, and preservation resources to support multiple work fronts.
  • 10 years’ experience with all aspects of Mechanical equipment such as vessels, vessel internals, exchangers, pumps/motors, compressors, vendor skid packages, valves and pipe work etc.
  • Well versed with scaffold requirements for preservation of mechanical equipment and skids.
  • Well-developed computer skills, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.
  • Experience working in a union environment.
