General Purpose:
Responsible for coordinating and performing Project Engineering (PE) scope on McCarl’s projects, and supporting Construction and Design Teammates. Provide technical and administrative support to assigned projects and estimating efforts. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support design and constructability reviews and overall execution plan.
  • Support project kick-off information for PE scope.
  • Performing pre-job briefings to explain technical scope, inspection and test plans and critical quality aspects of the installation.
  • Develop detailed installation work packages including supplier installation instructions.
  • Prepare take-offs and requisitions for equipment and materials, and monitoring status of purchase orders and deliveries.
  • Trouble-shoot the design, resolving issues with clients and/or engineering using formal documentation processes and contract change order process
  • Monitor project schedule and track man-hours related to all project activities.
  • Prepare documents and information for job meetings and reports status of project on a regular basis.
  • Interact with external personnel regarding project progress
  • Execute material takeoffs.
  • Establish and maintain positive, productive working relationships with other McCarl’s departments and with customers, vendors, and subcontracts.
  • Ensure that all project activity is conducted in accordance with the McCarl’s Safety Program and project related procedures and practices.
  • Engage Client and Engineering organizations for the collection and submittal of technical information and work product to support on-going design or construction activities.
  • Support business development and client relationships through engaging best practices and technology
  • May function as Project Manager for projects of limited scope and/or short duration.  When so assigned, exercise discretion and independent authority appropriate to project management function.
  • Effectively communicate and project the principles of The McCarl’s Talen Advantage Roadmap
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Engineering or Construction Management and minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the area of industrial construction
  • Or Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school with 5 years construction or engineering related experience and/or training.
  • Detailed understanding of the methods and means of construction.
  • Understanding of typical heavy industrial process and mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills with all levels in the company.
  • Ability to attain and promote good customer relationships (both internal and external).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, Basic in Outlook.

Travel Requirement: 
This position may require over-the-road travel with overnight stays to assigned project locations.
