SATURDAY DIFFERENTIAL = $5/HOUR
PRIMARY PURPOSE: The position is responsible for placing finished goods into the warehouse, proper rotation of inventory, and accurately and efficiently picking customer orders and loading finished goods onto trucks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (Include the following and other duties may be assigned as needed)
PRESTAGE
- This is to be performed using a scanner gun.
- At the beginning of the shift and throughout, obtain Pick Tickets from the Distribution office. Pick Tickets contain customer order information such as, type of product and quantity that needs to be pulled from the warehouse to fill an order. Pick and scan items of finished product from the warehouse and enter quantities into the scanner gun.
- Build pallets of finished goods for customer orders, place a sticker on the pallet to identify which order the pallet/product belongs to, place in the staging rack, and complete the Load Chart. The Load Chart is filled out while the pallet is being built. When done pulling product and building pallets for the order, turn the completed Loader Sheet and Pick Ticket into the Distribution office. All writing must be clean, neat and legible. Must verify counts.
- Read and follow special instructions on the Pick Ticket. Special instructions may include the customer’s requirement to use corner boards, CHEP pallets, or to shrink wrap the pallet.
LOAD TRUCKS
- This is to be performed using a scanner gun.
- Obtain Load Tag, Pick Ticket already completed in the pre-stage process, and a blank Pick Ticket.
- Read the Load Tag. The Load Tag shows the customer order information, where in the warehouse the order is located, which truck to load, and the dock door assignment.
- Conduct pre-inspection of the trailer to ensure it is clean, proper temperature, note damage to the trailer, etc. Complete the pre-inspection form which is on the Load Tag document. Inform a supervisor if the trailer does not pass pre-inspection.
- While using a forklift, go to staging area, get pallets of product for the order, verify counts, and load the truck. Verify counts by reading the Pick Ticket already filled out during pre-stage and by writing the counts on the blank Pick-Ticket. If missing product for the order, pick items from the warehouse to complete the order. When remove product from the warehouse, use a hand scanning gun to scan the bar code on the rack and pallet and enter the quantity of cases into the scan gun.
ROTATION
- This is to be performed using a scanner gun.
- Take pallets of finished product from Production and place in the warehouse.
- Obtain the Production Schedule, read and understand the volume of product being produced, and move product in the warehouse to ensure there is enough room for incoming product. Rotate product based on FIFO.
- Using an Inventory Sheet, perform cycle counts. This involves finding the product on the Inventory Sheet in the warehouse, counting the product, and confirming quantities in the warehouse.
SAFETY/GMP/Misc
- Prior to operating a forklift, sign out for the forklift, conduct required safety inspection of the forklift, complete required safety inspection form, and only operate the lift if it is in safe working order. Report safety concerns or damage to the forklift immediately to the supervisor.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in safe handling of forklift.
- Maintain and work in accord with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration norms.
- Adhere to GMP’s in accordance with company policy.
- Must be able to work any shift and be able to work in an environment of 36F.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Must successfully complete and pass fork lift certification test.
- Other duties as assigned, such as Repacking product.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Basic English literacy with demonstrated ability to read, write and interpret work related documents and written work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic math skills with demonstrated ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers to assure proper inventory counts and fulfillment of customer orders.
REASONING ABILITY
Demonstrated ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Resolve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced-high pressure environment, collaborating with co-workers and management. Sense of urgency, extreme accuracy, detail oriented, able to raise and effectively deal with issues at all levels of management, ability to work independently, ability to suggest procedures to improve processes. Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
1. Education: High School graduate or GED equivalent from an accredited institution, without a forklift certification.
2. Experience: Basic entry level computer knowledge required. Familiarity with touch screen smartphones a plus. Must pass hand held wireless test and be able to read the instructions on the small screen. Must know how to read and follow instructions in English.
3. Preferences: Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred. Previous experience in scanning process is desirable.
4. Licensures: Forklift Certificate or experience required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is consistently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and extreme cold, 36 degrees. The employee will be working inside a production and/or warehouse facility where the use of chemical substances are present and used. Employee's work is also subject to the pressures of time constraints and deadlines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and loud when working in the production/warehouse facility.
