Title: Materials Supervisor
Salary Range: $79,000 - $80,000 Annually

GENERAL DISCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Materials Supervisor is responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, maintain proper rotations, ensure high levels of materials organization throughout the facilities, reducing waste, and execute the task of assigned materials to ensure production demands are met. This role supervises forklift EE’s, janitor/sanitor EE’s production line support, the receipt, inventory, and distribution of all raw materials and packaging, loading finished good trucks timely, all while maximizing space for each load. Effective utilization of office personnel to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS / DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
• Responsible for inventory accuracy and yield reporting for assigned categories.
• Executes inventory control procedures which minimize material disposals and rotation issues.
• Assists with the procurement of raw materials as required by the business.
• Supervises inventory team personnel to ensure assigned category (packaging materials, RTE ingredients, harvest packaging, raw materials, etc.) inventory levels are in proper rotation and are acceptable min/max ranges.
• Coordinates packaging demand requirements with Procurement department and outside vendors.
• Collaborates with customer service and production to mitigate potential problems and leverage opportunities as it relates to materials.
• Complies with and enforces Food Safety Requirements and GMPs and all EE safety procedures and policies.
• Ensure raw materials, ingredients and packaging are maintained clean and orderly to avoid contaminations.
• Works with the carrier partners and customer service department to provide superior service and delivery of goods within and outside of Dole network
• Requisition materials and enforce receiving procedures for materials for purchasing history and timely payment of vendor invoices.
• Ensures the integrity and continued operations of the food and employee safety system in the event of organizational or personnel changes within the company or associated facilities.
• Responsible for organization and cleanliness of all facilities through utilization of 5-S methodologies.
• Responsible for care of all dock doors, speed doors, facilities, trash receptacles, and bins as it relates to material handling.
• Responsible for the care and safe use of all mobile equipment to include sweepers, pallet jacks and forklifts, leads to reduced equipment replacement and/or repair costs.
• Responsible for all electric vehicle battery maintenance and care
• Responsible for managing all hourly EE’s accuracy of workforce entries, correcting variances with manual adjustments only when supported by EE signed adjustment form.
• Responsible for adhering to all productivity Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) set forth by management
• Other duties and projects as assigned.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
• 1+ year experience in an inventory management role, preferably in a perishable goods environment.
• 3+ years in a supply chain related role preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
• Strong computer skills preferred, Excel intermediate use, handheld scanners, Mainframe and JD Edwards (AS400)
• Excellent organizational skills in managing physical inventories and facility layouts
• Excellent arithmetic and mathematical skills
• Certification or experience with 5-S methodologies
• Strong communication skills upwards and downwards of the organization structure
• Forklift Train the Trainer Certification preferred.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate, support and maintain accountability
• Must be able to manage to KPI’s
• Must be able to multi-task, completing assigned tasks within the expected timeframe.
• Knowledge of material handling procedures, inventory accounting, and good manufacturing practices.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to maneuver around an array of equipment, bend, stoop, and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Able to occasionally work in a cold environment (35o on Plant floor).
WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to work beyond regular business hours, weekends and holidays as needed per business requirements.
• Ability to travel as needed, not to exceed 20%.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, High School Diploma or GED required.
