After successful completion of the probationary period, employee will receive off probation wage increase.
Shift Differential:
Monday-Thursday (6pm to 6am) + $1.00 per hour worked
Friday 4pm to Saturday 4am + $3.00 per hour worked
Saturday (4am to 4pm) + $2.00 per hour worked
Saturday (4pm to 4am) + $3.00 per hour worked
Sunday 4am to Monday 6am + $2.00 per hour worked
Shifts work; 6:00 am to 6:00 pm OR 6:00 pm to 6:00 am for the Casino locations
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible to protect and safeguard gaming and non-gaming assets by deterring theft and suspicious activities. Protect customers and employees from imminent danger and bodily harm and life threating situations. Provide security and surveillance services for all Gaming and Tribal entities to include buildings, and parking lots, according to established security policies and procedures. This position works swing shifts as assigned to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a constant presence to ensure safety at Gaming and non-tribal buildings and community through regular patrols to deter crime and provide quick response when needed.
- Patrol tribal events to ensure peaceful attendance.
- Observe, Identify, report, and respond to potential criminal and suspicious activities which may result in criminal acts to buildings, property, customers, and employees that may result in imminent danger and bodily harm and life threating situations.
- Patrol Gaming and assigned buildings for suspicious activities and crisis situations. Detain those suspected of committing crimes.
- Responsible to gather investigation results with Oneida Police and other law enforcement agencies related to criminal activities, misdemeanors, and accidents.
- Identify process and control deficiencies, recommend Standard Operating Procedure changes within Security and Gaming departments.
- Recognize and report banned patron issues to the appropriate authorities.
- Respond to all incidents including fire, theft, automobile accidents, robberies, disturbances, property damage and any other disturbances and secure the area as needed.
- Maintain appropriate documentation on incidences as required by policies and procedures. Generate reports as needed.
- Patrol buildings, parking lots, and grounds to assure for a safe and secure environment and prevent damage to or loss of Tribal, employee, or guest property.
- Perform all lobby duties, verify age of patrons, open doors, greet customers, check suspicious items, and identify intoxicated patrons.
- Verify jackpot winnings and credits for accuracy, transport money, chips, tokens, and markers.
- Control access to restricted areas; check for and report all safety hazards.
- Assist patrons with vehicle lockouts, lost and found and safety issues.
- Ensure employees adhere to all gaming policies and procedures; report any violations to appropriate personnel.
- Control emergency building situations that include evacuation of and/or shutdown due to imminent danger, or weather that could cause harm to customers and employees.
- Responsible to obtain cooperation from patrons and employees that use force using defense and arrest tactics to eliminate the threat and restore safety.
- Responsible for performing First Aid, AED, CPR in medical emergencies.
- Conduct initial investigations by interviewing and obtaining written statements from patrons/employees, gathering evidence, and completing a thorough and accurate report in a timely manner.
- Complete and verify gaming paperwork, departmental logs, reports, and parking violations.
- Work with Internal Security computers using job specific software such as CIMS, MS Word, MS Excel and OnBase and Outlook.
- Contribute to a team effort and accomplish related results as required.
- Assist in training and development of newly hired staff. Attend re-certification training in DAAT, Child Neglect, CPR, etc.
- Assist with escorting employees, patrons, or vendors to authorized to all locations of Gaming, Retail, and other designated Tribal entities. Responsible to ensure the safeguarding of casino assets including monetary funds.
- Must be in uniform while on duty and follow Internal Security Department Dress Code.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of security operations, principles and practices including investigation, patrol, communications, records, community/public relations, and crime prevention.
- Knowledge of general computer applications.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other law enforcement/regulatory agencies, departmental staff, tribal officials, and the public.
- Skill in dealing with the public and providing excellent customer service at all times.
- Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs in a Windows environment.
- Ability to prepare accurate, complete, and legible reports and present detailed, accurate and objective oral presentations and response to questions.
- Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with other individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to make intelligent and effective decisions in routine and emergency situations.
- Ability to operate a two-way radio.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to respond to emergency situations professionally with tact and competence. (Assessments will be conducted during training period.)
- Must be willing and able to obtain additional education and training.
- Oneida Certification on reporting Child Abuse and Neglect is required within ninety (90) days of employment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be eighteen (18) year of age or older.
- High School Diploma, HSED Diploma, or GED Certification is required within one (1) year of employment. Applicants age fifty (50) and older are exempt from this requirement.
- Must successfully complete the following Training programs within a timeline approved by the supervisor: (Employment is contingent upon successfully completing all required training.)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Frequently stand, walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl.
- Occasionally sit, climb, balance, smell, lift seventy-five (75) pounds with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to forty (40) pounds.
- Must be able to perform under stress in crisis situations involving bodily danger and life threating events.
- Work is generally performed indoors and may have frequent contact with the public and be exposed to moderate/high noise levels, dirt, dust, unpleasant odors, and second-hand smoke. Prolonged standing and walking may be required between buildings and other areas; situations may occur where there is exposure to hazards or physical risks and outside weather conditions.
- Must be able to work swing shifts to include evenings, holidays, and weekends.
- Officers assigned to any non-gaming location will be required to adhere to the employee immunization requirements.
