Educational Requirements: Eighteen (18) years old and has a High School diploma or GED; or Twenty-one (21) years old.
Duties/Responsibilities: The population to be served by this position includes children, youth, adults, and elderly. The disability served will be any intellectual or developmental disability diagnosis addressed in the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental disorders.
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) will deliver supports and care to participants while adhering to recognized state and agency policies, procedure, guidelines and regulations. The DSP will provide supervision of and interaction with participants at all times, which may include providing direct personal assistance. Will integrate the participant in social and/or leisure activities in their community. May provide transportation of participant as coordinated by the Site Supervisor. All other duties as outlined in current job description.
Skills/Knowledge: This position prefers a staff with a demonstrated ability and desire to work with individuals who have a Developmental Disabilities diagnosis.
