Pathways Inc.- Peer Support Specialist

Salary Range: $32,500

Certification/License Requirements:

Certification as a Peer Support Specialist through a state-approved training program (or ability to obtain prior to hire with agency support)

Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED
Demonstrated one-year period of wellness, defined as:
- Lack of symptoms or behavioral health hospitalization
- Medication compliance
- Active engagement in the recovery process
Completion of DBHDID-sanctioned 30-hour PSS training (Pathways will provide re-training if not already completed)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide Peer Support Services by:
- Sharing lived experience to support and inspire recovery
- Advocating for individuals in recovery
- Sharing resources and teaching skill-building strategies
- Facilitating peer sessions, mentoring, and setting recovery goals with assigned consumers
- Helping build supportive relationships and community connections
Adhere to all Pathways policies, procedures, and state regulations, including 908 KAR 2:220
Perform other duties as assigned

Experience Requirements:

Experience working with the population for which the employee has lived experience (Substance Use Disorder and/or Mental Health)
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to adapt to change and maintain professional boundaries
Commitment to providing services consistent with Kentucky regulations and Pathways policies
