Salary: $35,000–$40,000

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field. A working knowledge of the Twelve-Step recovery process is required. Certification as an Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) is preferred.


Job Summary

The CRRU Staff is responsible for providing supportive, therapeutic, and structured care to consumers in the Crisis Residential Recovery Unit (CRRU). This position ensures safe withdrawal management, promotes engagement in recovery services, and supports clients throughout their treatment process.


Duties & Responsibilities
  • Observe and support direct care services provided to consumers in the CRRU.

  • Promote safe withdrawal and therapeutic engagement by meeting clients where they are in their recovery journey.

  • Manage incoming telephone contacts and referral calls for CRRU admissions.

  • Monitor staff activities to ensure proper admission and discharge procedures, including completion of all required documentation.

  • Process chart work and ensure accurate and timely production of client charts.

  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and provide individual therapy as needed.

  • Support clients in establishing vocational goals, understanding health and STD risks, and engaging in recreational activities.

  • Transport consumers as needed for services or activities.

  • Conduct consultations with families and outside providers upon client request.

  • Demonstrate competency in the skills, knowledge, and attitudes outlined in Addiction Counseling Competencies: The Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes of Professional Practice (CSAT TAP #21, 2006).


Special Experience or Skill Set Required
  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate client care effectively.

  • Knowledge and application of The Principles of Effective Treatment (NIDA NIH Publication No. 00-04180).

  • Working knowledge of ASAM criteria and levels of care.


Required Experience
  • Experience in client care coordination.

  • Ability to apply evidence-based treatment principles in a residential recovery setting.
