Established in Los Angeles in 2011 with locations nation-wide, RatPac Controls designs, manufactures, sells, and rents power and data distribution equipment for lighting in the Motion Picture, Television, and Broadcast Media industries. Our product developments are focused on making the jobs of lighting and rigging easier and more efficient. Our products have been used on major motion picture and television shows around the world for over a decade. These product portfolios include whisper-quiet dimming solutions for all varieties of HMI, LED, and tungsten lights. We also lead the way in wireless lighting controls systems, designing and manufacturing transmitters and receivers compatible with all varieties of lighting fixtures commonly used on production sets.

Act as liaison between the Engineering and Manufacturing Departments to facilitate Full Production Release (FPR) of new products, support released products, generate Work Instructions, RFQs, ECOs, confirm build quality and coordinate changes for improving manufacturing throughput

Job Duties, Experience and Requirements:

· Assist with developing and documenting approved assembly and build procedures

· Facilitate the transition of new products from Engineering to Manufacturing

· Generate manufacturing assembly work instructions

· Work with engineering and manufacturing to validate and revise test procedures

· Ensure ISO900x level quality and company standards are met

· Conduct Kaizen and other process improvement events

· Suggest improvements in production workflow and general assembly methods

· Coordinate new production hardware and software releases to the manufacturing floor

· Capture and document needs and suggestions from the manufacturing floor

· Support and train manufacturing during the release of new products

· Keep track of documentation, maintain logs of recommended improvements to designs

· Generate CARs (Corrective Action Reports)

· Work with outside contract manufacturers and suppliers to ensure quality of delivered goods

· Aid in research of alternate parts and provide support in supply chain

· Verify production BOM's, assist and support parts procurement process as needed

· Gather and report issues involving problems with products on the floor

· Track trends in repairs and replacements of customer products in sales and rentals

· Keep current on manufacturing industry trends including tools and methods to improve quality, production timelines

· Assist in Design Reviews, beta test through rentals planning, production procurement, assembly and test

· Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Previous work experience in a fast-paced dynamic mid-sized manufacturing environment

· Prior experience in quality assurance, 8-D and quality control methods

· Electronic Manufacturing experience

· Knowledge of basic electronics, including ability to read schematics and block diagrams

· Knowledge of commonly used shop tools (soldering, general assembly, torque setting) and some familiarity with machine shop practices

· Experience with power electronics, AC power, lighting and/or motor control systems desirable

· Proven ability to collect information and generate clear and complete reports

· Experience with PCB manufacturing

· Experience with reviewing/correcting Bills of Materials, Process Routings, and Time standards

· Generates Component Alternate Source Specification Recommendations

· Electromechanical product packaging aptitude is desirable

· Familiar with and comfortable around high voltage, safety procedures, safe work area, basic ESD, PPE Control Procedures and Materials

· Familiar with Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Process Improvement and Documentation Skills

· Well organized, timeline focused and resourceful team player

· ERP experience, SAP Business One knowledge/experience preferred

· Qualifications: (Minimum Education & Years of Experience required)

·BSIE from an accredited college or university

2 or more years’ experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering
