The Facilities Maintenance I is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Supervisor in a wide range of projects. This position services the facility, such as: plumbing, lighting, carpentry, painting, ventilation, fixtures, heating, HVAC, equipment at the highest level of operating proficiency.


Responsibilities:
  • Assists with regular preventative maintenance of facility equipment.
  • Assists with facility maintenance request, including; plumbing, lighting, carpentry, painting, ventilation, fixtures, heating, HVAC, parch and texture drywall.
  • Keeps the workshop clean and organized at all times.
  • Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling to complete work orders.
  • Reviews and/or completes maintenance documentation as required under cGMPs.
  • Maintains current on all training related to cGMP and SOPs as issued by Maintenance Management.
  • Answers emergency call-backs and flexible to work weekends, holidays, and during plant shutdown periods as required.
  • Tracks and completes reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assists other technicians and departments to plan for upcoming events/audits.
  • Assists with replaces or repairs parts and/or make adjustments on equipment, such as: checks voltage, checks and replaces fuses, checks air & gas, etc.
  • Periodically travels to/from other RPI facility locations.
  • Completes reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Follows/enforces that everyone adheres to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), Standard Safety Practices, and all company policies/procedures.
  • Completes other projects and tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • 0-2 years of work experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Adaptability/Flexibility - able to adapt in changing circumstances/environments, and able to embrace new ideas.
  • Basic knowledge in plumbing, carpentry, masonry, drywall, painting, replace and repair defective parts as identified.
  • Communication Skills (Oral & Written) - able to speak clearly, concisely and accurately in order to ensure effective department operations.
  • Continuous Improvement - willingness to learn new things and comply with continuous improvements in procedures and processes.
