San Francisco AIDS Foundation has worked to create such a future since 1982 through education, advocacy and direct prevention, substance use health and supportive services. More than 25,000 people every year access free HIV testing and STI screening, harm reduction and syringe access and disposal, community engagement, and health navigation services. Position Summary:
The IT Director cultivates and develops creative technology strategies that will meet and exceed the Foundation’s technical, IT, and telecommunications needs. This role’s objective is to empower its stakeholders, both clients and staff, to tap into technology resources with the highest possible value-add.  The IT Director’s creative vision, brought to life by a team of hands-on IT professionals, will be paramount in ensuring that the Foundation’s mission is carried out with utmost quality, efficiency, and customer service.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning: Design Foundation-wide technology initiatives and budgets to optimize stakeholder efficiency and experience.
  2. Integration of Systems: Streamline services and operations by assessing, understanding, and harmonizing technology resources and needs among all departments.
  3. Data Security Compliance:  Minimize risks by ensuring that systems and processes are in place to safeguard sensitive information pursuant to applicable law and best practices.
  4. Leadership: Direct a team of IT professionals by setting objectives, determining metric criteria, analyzing data, and establishing IT budgets. 
  5. Project Mapping: Structure the inception, maturation, and implementation of high-profile technology initiatives according to budget.
  6. Quality Assurance: Analyze existing and potential systems to derive maximum value from technology resources. 
  7. Industry Expertise: Stay up-to-date and advise organizational leaders on cutting-edge IT trends within various sectors and geographies.
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong analytical, communication and customer service skills. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field (e.g., Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
  • Excellent strategic planning skills
  • 10+ years of relevant technical experience
  • 5+ years in a leadership role relating to technology
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree in IT or related field (e.g., Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science, etc.)
  • Healthcare background with knowledge of electronic records & HIPPA
  • Non-profit experience a plus  
     
Supervision:
This position will supervise an IT Manager.

Physical Requirements and Work Environments:
Skill in operating office equipment such as a personal computer, copy machine and telephone system. Ability to perform routine bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching. Work Environment:
This position is primarily located at 1035 Market Street; San Francisco, however will require traveling to other office locations or off-site meetings as required by the job.
