Applicants should have:
- Bachelor Degree or Higher
- Current Oregon Teaching License
- Preferred: Special Education degree, endorsement or equivalent studies
- Preferred: Three (3) years of previous teaching experience
- Preferred: Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, Learning Specialist, or Intervention Specialist at the primary level.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Support diverse learners by providing effective interventions
- Conduct classroom observations
- Perform case management responsibilities including displaying knowledge of procedures, policies and regulations related to special education
- Develop and implement plans with classroom teachers, support staff, and parents based on students’ learning need(s)
- Schedule, conduct and lead parent conferences and meetings
- Maintain proper and sufficient documentation of parent meetings, conferences, and communication with other providers or staff
- Manage end of year reports and documentation
- Participate in on-going and job-embedded professional development for the purpose of growing professional knowledge and skill
- Sensitivity to, respect for, and understanding of educational and social developmental needs of students
- Track and analyze students’ progress and make adjustments as needed
- In depth knowledge of teaching methods and legal educational procedures.
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Well organized with excellent leadership abilities
- Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills
