Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon (SSMO) Ministries Corporation is looking for a high-detail, customer-focused Payroll Administrator :to serve the Maryville and Maryville Memory Care entity of approximately 250 employees. Areas of focus will be semi-monthly payroll, processing of new hires, ensuring the accuracy of time data entry and payroll reporting, processing of garnishments, benefit administration, and other financial support services. This position also works closely with our HR team and reports to the CFO.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: :
  • Supports Controller with administrative processes for the full cycle processing of Oregon payroll, including ensuring supervisors are approving time cards on a timely basis.
  • Ensuring all payroll changes have the proper supporting documentation.
  • Track use of employee personal days and leaves of absence by appropriate payroll code
  • Notify employees when they are eligible for employer retirement benefits
  • Provides support and works effectively with department managers, Human Resource team and employees.
  • Supports, monitors and processes other weekly functions including garnishments, misc. deductions, payroll taxes, audit time off accruals, and researching employee requests
  • Maintain payroll guidelines by ensuring policies, procedures, and documents are timely
  • Performs audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Complete assignments related to quarter end tax processing.
  • Reconciles weekly payroll GL and tax files as needed.
  • Data entry, data management and audit data within the Paycom HRIS timekeeping
  • Adherence to Company Core Values and policies.
  • Additional duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements :
  • Minimum 3 years of recent payroll experience
  • Working knowledge of state, federal and local tax regulations, and laws
  • Ability to relate to, lead, influence and coach team members within department.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment meeting deadline with accuracy and timeliness, independently and with a team.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Strong math, organizational and analytical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite and excel skills.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have high attention to detail, and ability to guard highly confidential and sensitive information.
