Evaluation Manager
Summary of Position
The Evaluation Manager (EM) oversees the design, implementation, and analysis of evaluation activities for various programs and projects for our variable nonprofit clients. They work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and manage evaluation plans, conduct data collection and analysis using quantitative and qualitative methods, and produce and disseminate evaluation reports and recommendations. As part of their function, the Evaluation Manager will support in identifying, convening and facilitating engagements with diverse stakeholder (community, nonprofit, philanthropy, government and private sector) groups to innovate and advance new methods and approaches to measure and evaluate social impact within the nonprofit sector. The Evaluation manager also contributes to the development and improvement of evaluation policies, procedures, and systems, and provides technical assistance and capacity building to staff and partners on evaluation-related topics.

Duties and Responsibilities
Ideal candidates for this position should be evaluation/study design, social welfare, and tech savvy. Ultimately, an outstanding Evaluation Manager should: have a firm grasp of collective design/design thinking, working in public-private partnerships and population and community health.
  • Develop and manage evaluation plans for programs and projects, including defining evaluation questions, indicators, methods, and tools.
  • Conduct data collection and analysis using quantitative and qualitative methods and tools, such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, experiments, case studies, observations, and document review.
  • Use R, Python, or other programming languages and data analysis and visualization tools, such as SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik, to perform data cleaning, manipulation, and analysis.
  • Produce and deliver high-quality evaluation reports and presentations that communicate findings, conclusions, and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to internal and external audiences, such as staff, donors, partners, and beneficiaries.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that evaluation activities are aligned with the strategic goals and learning objectives of the organization and its partners.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity building to staff and partners on evaluation design, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of evaluation policies, procedures, and systems, and ensure that data quality and ethical standards are met.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in evaluation, participatory research, facilitation/design thinking, and analytics, and apply them to advance the organization's services and impact.
Essential Skills
  • A Master's degree or higher in a relevant field, such public health, economics, public policy, social sciences, or related disciplines is preferred (however candidates with relevant commensurate experience are encouraged to apply)
  • At least 3–5 years of professional experience in designing, implementing, and overseeing measurement and evaluation, preferably in the non-profit or public health sector.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as R or Python, and experience with data analysis and visualization tools, such as SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, or Qlik.
  • Experience with designing and conducting quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, experiments, or case studies.
  • Experience with developing and implementing measurement and evaluation frameworks, plans, and indicators, and applying data quality and ethical standards.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data and technical concepts into clear and actionable insights for diverse audiences.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects and tasks.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the organization and the public health sector.
Ideal Skills for Success in The Position
  1. Understanding of the intersection of data and technology
  2. Experience working with nonprofits from different sectors (e.g. healthcare, housing, workforce development, etc).
  3. Familiarity with ESG, CSR and Social Impact measurement
  4. Familiarity with big data, data science, machine learning, and/or Artificial Intelligence methods and use cases.
