SR. Communications IT Specialist

Position Description:

The Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO) is seeking a Senior Communications IT Specialist to support the U.S. Army's Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO) in Ft. Belvoir, VA.
The successful candidate will provide first contact IT support to the RCCTO Senior Staff and be responsible for providing hardware and software support, coordination of video teleconferences, and acquisition of IT resources. The Executive Communications IT Specialist will also advise the RCCTO Command Staff on IT and IA matters. The candidate must have excellent oral and written coordination and communication with internal team members, across government customer functional teams, command system administration, and senior and junior information assurance team members.
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
  • Enforce standards and procedures for all phases of IT management and administration, develop solutions to complex problems, and makes proposals for improvement of systems
  • Assist in acquisition of IT hardware and software resources to support daily operations
  • Provide hardware, software, video teleconferencing, and mobile device support to leadership and staff
  • In-process new employees
  • Serve as an alternate Information Management Officer for RCCTO
  • Serve as an alternate SIPR token Trusted Agent
  • Develop and maintain a responsible interface between Program/Project Management Offices, RCCTO NCR and HSV program staff, and outside organizations to ensure proper communication and development and deployment of technologies, products, and systems
  • Coordinate regularly with staff performing similar functions at other RCCTO locations
  • Prepare briefing materials, support teleconferences and video teleconferences and other administrative support tasks as directed
Required Experience:
  • Experience with using MS SharePoint, Outlook, and the MS Office suite of programs.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree from an accredited university in an information technology-related field (information science, computer science, network administration) or nine years of relevant experience and a high school diploma/GED.
Required Skills:
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Knowledge of secure communications systems
  • Demonstrated experience supporting senior command level staffs/executive communications
  • Excellent technical domain knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrate knowledge of automated information systems procurement, configuration, deployment, and maintenance
  • Ability and desire to will work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
Physical Job Requirements: Requires the ability to lift up to 30 pounds
Required Travel: 10%
Desired Qualifications:
  • Top Secret clearance with an active SCI
  • Military service experience with remote networks and communications
  • CompTIA Security + and A+ or other computing environment certifications to meet DoD 8570 IAT II are required upon employment
  • Advanced certifications such as CCNA Security, CASP+CE, GCIH, or CISSP
Clearance:
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a validation of their government security clearance and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. A SECRET level of clearance is required at a minimum for this position.
