Training Specialist (Huntsville, AL)

Position Description:

Training Support Specialist to support Army Mid-Range Capability (MRC) weapon system, Long Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW) and Task Force Strategic Integrated Kinetic Effects (TF STRIKE) within Army Program Executive Office, Missiles and Space.  Training specialists coordinate with the user commands, Army schools, Navy schools, Program Office and Original Equipment Manufacturer to determine training requirements, coordinate training timelines and schedules, organize training events, and review training materials.  They must be able to manage and coordinate different schedule to ensure Soldiers are provided consistent, quality training.  They review course material and training aides.    

Responsibilities:

• Act as program office representative at new equipment training events.
• Coordinate training requirements with Army and Navy school houses and training commands.
• Support Soldier training at unit locations, test events, and military exercises. 
• Assist in developing, evaluation, and updating training requirements.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend changes to improve training.
• Plan, Develop and Staff Training Support Packages.
• Assist development of acquisition documentation.

Required Experience:

• BA/BS and 5 years related work experience in addition to schools/training.  ten years of relevant experience is required if no Bachelor’s degree.

• Active and current SECRET Clearance.
• Five (5) years of experience supporting Army training programs.
• Working knowledge of AR 700-127, TRADOC Regulation 350-1, and TRADOC Pamphlet 350-70-14.

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the development and delivery of DoD training programs.
• Ability to travel within the United States and abroad to support training events.
• Ability to clearly articulate requirements in written and oral form.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint.

Desired Qualifications/Experience:

• Familiarity with Aegis Weapon System, and/or the Tomahawk Weapon System.
• TRADOC Instructor Certification
• Experience with Configuration Management (CM).
• Prior experience conducting technical training course development.
• Ability to analyze and identify individual and collective training tasks.
• Ability to develop performance measures and performance levels to identify affected occupational skill areas.
• Capable of identifying learning objectives, learning types and levels, and instructional methodology of each learning objective.
• Experience with Department of Defense weapon acquisition programs

Clearance:

• Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
