Technical Writer / Provisioner

Seeking a Technical Writer and Provisioner to support the Program Executive Office, Missiles and Space Task Force Strategic Integrated Kinetic Effects (TF STRIKE). TF STRIKE is responsible for the development and fielding of the Army’s Long Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW) and Mid-Range Capability (MRC). The Technical Writer and Provisioner will be responsible for assisting in the development, writing and editing of technical manuals, and documentation for the LRHW and MRC systems.
Job Duties Include: 
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, release notes, API documentation, and online help systems.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and product managers to gather information and understand technical concepts.
  • Research, organize, and interpret technical information to produce accurate and concise documentation.
  • Integrate relevant information into well-written physical descriptions, controls, and indicators and removal and replacement procedures with amplifying graphics
  • Select drawings, sketches, diagrams, charts, and photographs of equipment to illustrate the material.
  • Write and edit clear and concise content that meets the needs of the target audience, ensuring adherence to style guidelines and documentation standards.
  • Develop and maintain documentation templates, style guides, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across all publications.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to industry standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in technical writing.
  • Perform cross-functional analysis and lead special projects as requested.
  • Has the technical responsibility to develop, revise, and maintain data for publications.
  • Develops technical data which is the source of provisioning, RPSTL and other equipment publications and maintenance programs.
  • Evaluates Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and publications change requests for impact to maintenance concepts/philosophies.
  • Knowledgeable of equipment requirements, policies, and procedures as they pertain to assigned system or subsystem requirements.
  • Reviews, evaluates, accepts and/or rejects the provisioning data and maintenance allocations codes assigned, provides guidance during pre-provisioning and provisioning reconciliation conferences.


Required Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in writing and/or a technical field from an accredited college or university.  Four (4) years of experience in engineering, science or related field may be considered.
  • Active SECRET security clearance.
  • Ability to comply with schedules, and unique Army program procedures/requirements.
  • Capacity to perform reviews, updates, and additions of the provisioning file both internal and with the Government.
  • Knowledge of and interaction between Repair Parts and Special Tools List (RPSTL) in development of associated documentation.
  • Ability to work in dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office Products (PowerPoint/Word/Outlook)
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Required Experience:
  • Five years of technical writing experience.
  • Experience working with Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM) and eXtensable Markup Language (XML) using authoring software.
  • Experience with modifications or maintenance, including performing maintenance or installations on a variety of military equipment including special equipment and ground vehicles.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with Configuration Management (CM).
