Seeking a candidate to provide resource management and administrative services to support Agency mission objectives. USDA business site located in Minneapolis is looking to acquire a full-time general clerk for front desk services
Requirements
• Screen visitors and guests by viewing USDA badge identification before granting office
access, or by reviewing government furnished lists of expected guests if USDA badge access is unavailable.
• Welcome guests and visitors as they enter the office, providing a friendly and
professional impression. Providing clear verbal communication.
• Direct guests and visitors to sign in and sign out to maintain building onsite
accountability. Additionally, -issue, and track visitors passes.
• Issue and track elevator cards.
• Contract employee shall assign lockers to staff or replace locker batteries, as necessary.
• Re-set locker codes, as necessary.
• Direct screened guests to the appropriate department, conference, and / o r meeting
room.
• Retrieve packages and boxes left outside of the front office doors.
• Sign for packages if mailroom staff are unavailable.
•Route calls o r onsite personnel t o appropriate USDA personnel member.
• Use a government laptop in accordance with federal information technology
rules for official government work including reviewing and responding t o email inquiries.
• Able to lift packages weighing 25lbs or less.
• Provide excellent customer service providing a friendly demeanor and a positive
experience for visitors
• Present a professional demeanor, appearance and manner.
• Keep the front desk neat and organized, aiding i n creating a warm environment.
• Update all Minneapolis email addresses and phone number listing, as necessary.
• Ensure emergency binders are updated quarterly.
• Coordinate meeting room reservations and room configurations, as needed.
• Restock the mailroom supplies monthly, restock wipes in open office areas, as needed.
• Provide a requested supply list to the BOD quarterly to replenish supply cabinet.
• Monitor the Minneapolis Facilities email box and route t o the appropriate BOD
member to address the email.
• Answer the front desk phone and route t o the appropriate USDA point o f contact.
• Initiate the Informa Cast announcement system in case o f an emergency.
• Replace presidential portraits at the front desk, as needed.
• Forward building wide email events to the Minneapolis email group, as needed.
• Update digital signage displays, as needed.
Qualifications:
• Ability to follow specific, detailed instructions
• Skill in the use of office equipment (phone, computer etc.)
• The physical ability to lift packages that weigh 25lbs or less.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
